Milly started at our breakfast table — with my dad.

After being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes at 40, my dad spent years figuring out what made him feel his best. One ritual stuck: a warm morning drink made from finely milled blends of ancient grains, nuts, and seeds. It wasn’t fancy. But it worked. The blends gave him steady energy and real nourishment, all from simple, whole ingredients.

Years later, after leaving my career in biotech to pursue my passion in health and wellness, I kept thinking about that cup. The deeper I went into my work as a Holistic Health Coach, I was drawn back to what felt most grounding — traditional food wisdom, real ingredients, and the way nourishment was prepared before everything became so industrialized. I wanted to honor the foods and everyday rituals that once connected people to culture and care — a return to nourishment shaped by tradition, not trends.

So I created Milly.

Inspired by traditional East Asian food practices and everyday rituals of nourishment, Milly brings together finely milled ingredients and modern flavors—honoring a way of eating rooted in care, simplicity, and tradition.

Ancient Grains, Timeless Nutrition

Rooted in the Chinese tradition of 古粉 (gǔ fěn), or “ancient powders,” Milly reimagines finely milled blends of heritage grains like Job's tears, lotus seeds, mung beans, and black sesame. Long valued for their digestibility and balance, these ingredients offer a gentle, grounding way to nourish the body—just as they have for generations.

This approach to nourishment shares its spirit with traditions like Léi Chá (擂茶)—where grains, nuts, and seeds are transformed into sustaining, drinkable rituals.

We bring this tradition into modern, everyday life.
